Lincoln Park is a picturesque, tree-lined community featuring upscale residences and is one of the best neighborhoods in Chicago. Lincoln Park's architecture is a beautiful mix of styles, including Queen Anne, Victorian, Gothic, Romanesque, and modern. Lovely brownstone, graystone, and brick row homes are typical, as well as worker cottages and bungalows. There are many historic mansions, large estate homes, and luxury apartment buildings. 
 
Lincoln Park is a friendly and welcoming community. Residents have access to upscale boutiques and shops, many of which are located along Armitage Avenue. The community is just a short drive from the designer boutiques in downtown Chicago. The east side of Lincoln Park rests on the shores of Lake Michigan. The shoreline area is the site of the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, The Lincoln Park Conservatory, The Lincoln Park Zoo, North Avenue Beach, Lincoln Park, and the Chicago History Museum. Parks, both large and small, are scattered throughout the community, offering green spaces for walking, jogging, picnics, sports activities, and relaxation. The area is also home to many highly-rated restaurants.

Lincoln Park is home to some of Chicago's nicest shops and boutiques. Many of the shops can be found along Armitage Avenue. Some of those trendy and unique shops include Art Effect, billed as a modern-day general store, and All She Wrote, a stationery store with one-of-a-kind products.

There's also a Chess Pavilion and Castaway's Restaurant at the beach. The Lakefront Trail is an excellent place for walking, biking, and skating. Families enjoy the many parks in the area, including Lincoln Park, Jane Addams Memorial Park, and Oz Park. For families with dogs, Belmont Harbor has a great dog beach. Lincoln Park also offers many natural areas and outdoor amenities such as the Bill Jarvis Bird Sanctuary, the Lincoln Park Zoo, the Lincoln Park Conservatory, Marovitz Golf Course, sports fields, a driving range, mini-golf, tennis courts, basketball, and beach volleyball. The Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool, The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, the Chicago History Museum, and the North Pond Nature Sanctuary.
