Bucktown and Wicker Park are two trendy, hip, and upbeat communities located northwest of downtown Chicago. Although they are two distinct communities with unique characteristics, they share many commonalities and a similar vibe. These eclectic residential enclaves offer many housing types, from simple studio apartments to historic townhouses, luxurious condominiums, and beautiful single-family homes. There are many large brick and stone mansions, converted industrial buildings with loft condominiums, and landmark brownstone and graystone row houses. The architecture is a blend of vintage Old Chicago styles and trendy modern designs. These neighborhoods are less densely populated, and many of the streets are wider, lending to a less congested feel. Known as a mecca for foodies, there are fabulous restaurants, coffee shops, and dive bars around every corner. 
 
Bucktown and Wicker Park are communities with an edgy and artsy ambiance. Once an industrial area, these communities have been turned into gorgeous residential neighborhoods. Street art graces the facades of many vintage buildings, emphasizing the unique feel of a community thriving on arts and culture. The area is also home to some of the best nightlife in the Chicago area and unique shopping venues. Most of the shopping is located along Milwaukee Avenue, Damen Avenue, and the Six Corners Intersection. You’ll find vintage stores, record shops, boutiques, art galleries, restaurants, theaters, bars, and coffee shops. The communities are pedestrian and bike-friendly, with easy access to public transportation. Bucktown and Wicker Park residents enjoy outdoor activities at Wicker Park and along the 606 Trail. There’s always someone out walking, jogging, biking, or taking their dog for a stroll in the park. Three other popular parks in the area are Holstein Park, Walsh Park, and Churchill Park
